how we'll work together

I utilize multiple therapeutic approaches to create a personalized experience that honors your unique needs and ways of processing. Here are the modalities I most often use:

  • Art therapy uses creative expression as a pathway to healing and self-discovery. You don't need any artistic skill or experience—the process can be more important than the product. Through painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, and other mediums, we'll explore feelings and experiences that might be difficult to put into words.

  • Somatic therapy invites you to tune into the physical sensations, tensions, and signals your body sends—the tightness in your chest, the knot in your stomach, the way you hold your breath. This might look like noticing where you feel emotions in your body, exploring movement, or simply learning to befriend your physical experience instead of overriding it. Anxiety, stress, and trauma live in the body, not just the mind. By bringing gentle awareness to these sensations, we can process what's stored there and help your nervous system experience safety.

  • Parts work recognizes that we all have many different aspects of ourselves (e.g. the inner critic, the perfectionist, the wounded inner child). Rather than trying to eliminate the parts that cause struggle, we'll get curious about them. Through dialogue and creative exploration, we'll help these parts feel heard and find new, healthier ways to support you. The goal is internal harmony, where all parts of you can coexist without one dominating or silencing the others.

  • Narrative therapy helps you examine the dominant stories in your life and consider whether they're still serving you. We'll explore where these narratives came from (family, culture, past experiences) and begin to author new ones that feel more true and compassionate. You're not defined by your struggles or your past. You have the ability to re-story your life in ways that honor your complexity and open up new possibilities.

  • Humanistic therapy is rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to create a space where you can reconnect with your innate wisdom and capacity for growth. This approach emphasizes your inherent worth, your potential for self-direction, and your ability to make meaning from your experiences. We'll focus on the present moment, your subjective experience, and what it means to live authentically. You're not a problem to be solved—you're a person discovering who you are and who you want to become.
